Marilyn Rye

English - Communications - Philosophy

Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. and M.A. in Comparitive Literature from Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ), an M.L.S. from Rutgers, and a B.A. in French from Douglass College.

Dr. Rye is an Associate Professor of English and the Director of Freshman Writing Workshop. She has directed the writing program at Fairleigh Dickinson since 1994. Prior to that she was the Associate Director of the Learning Center at Livingston College and an Associate Director of the Rutgers University Writing Program at Douglass College.

At FDU Dr. Rye is a member of the Becton College faculty. She directs the Florham-Madison composition program and teaches composition courses. She also teaches courses in literature and women's studies.

Her current interests include composition pedagogy and detective fiction. She spends free time listening to classical music and reading detective fiction. She edits Promptbook, The Journal of the Ngaio Marsh Society International and is a member of the editorial board of New Jersey College English Notes.
