Ish Kumar, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor of Chemistry, School of Natural Sciences

Research Interests
A. Bioorganic and Medicinal chemistry: Virtual Screening and evaluation of non-covalent inhibitors of clinically important enzyme targets: We are interested in how enzyme structure determines function, with a focus on novel inhibitor discovery using a combination of computational chemistry, enzyme kinetics and molecular designing.

B. Application of Biocatalysis in Organic Synthesis: Biocatalysis in the preparation of enatiomerically pure pharmaceuticals, their intermediates and fine chemicals by following approaches such as microbial screening, enzyme screening, substrate-structure screening and solvent screening.
