My subject matter areas of expertise are The Food Business - Retail Food Marketing – Consumer Packaged Goods Entrepreneurship – Small Business – Family Business So lets start with here at Silberman College of Business. I am an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship, Silberman College of Business. I have taught or am currently teaching the MBA level Management of Small Business as well as Family Business Management, both Undergraduate and MBA. I received a BS in Management from Montclair State University and an MBA from St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia, PA. Since I enjoy working with Entrepreneurs, I am a counselor at the Small Business Development Center, Raritan Valley Community College. I founded Celentano & Company a Family Business Consultancy. As a Family Business expert, I mentor and coach Family Businesses on a wide range of Family Business issues and in particular he deal with the Family’s Human, Intellectual and Financial Capital with respect to Succession Planning. These are keys to preserve the family legacy for the next generation. My clients range from manufacturing, distribution and professional services companies and I particulary enjoy working with the “early successor” generation. I speak on a variety of Family Business topics and provides family business continuing education seminars. Although I have academic knowledge in this area, it is my 30 plus years of personal experience as a family business member that provides me with a unique ability to bridge Founding and Successor generations, helping them handle their most sensitive and challenging issues. My Mission: to help my clients avoid the “Shirt Sleeves to Shirt Sleeves” phenomenon experienced by over 85% of family businesses. I co-founded The FoodPreneur™ LLC, an organization providing Strategic Consulting to food companies in the Consumer Package Goods industry. The FoodPreneur Boot Camp Professional Educational programs are intensive seminars tailored to small and middle-market specialty food manufacturers. I am a regular speaker at The National Association of Specialty Food Trade’s annual Fancy Food Show in New York City. I held virtually every position in my former Family business, Celentano Bros., Inc, the 2nd largest national brand in the Italian prepared foods category. The company is best known for the Celentano brand of Italian Frozen Pastas and Prepared Meals (its flagship product, the round Ravioli).
