Vladimir Zwass is Recipient of Endowed ChairTeaneck, NJ (September 11, 2008) — The first recipient of the Gregory Olsen Endowed Chair in Mathematics, Science and Engineering was announced on September 10 at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s annual academic convocation.
Zwass has created premium outlets for the world’s best research. He is the founding editor-in-chief of the "Journal of Management Information Systems," now in its 25th year of publication and one of the top three journals in the discipline, and the "International Journal of Electronic Commerce," established 12 years ago and ranked the number one research journal in e-commerce. Zwass is also the founding editor-in-chief of the highly regarded "Advances in Management Information Systems" monograph series.
Among his many books, Zwass has written authoritative texts on "Management Information Systems" and "Foundations of Information Systems"; he has produced works on electronic commerce and organizational memory that are considered foundational; published numerous articles and papers and conducted presentations worldwide.
An inspiring professor and an invaluable contributor to Fairleigh Dickinson University for more than three decades, Dr. Zwass developed two graduate programs: the MS in electronic commerce and the MS in management information systems, as well as serving as deputy director in the Lee Gildart and Oswald Haase School of Computer Sciences and Engineering.
