Help for Women-owned Business
Seminar to be Held on October 16
Madison, NJ (September 16, 2004) — In New Jersey, there are 175,000 women-owned firms. Where can these entrepreneurs go to find capital to start a new business or to grow their current business?
On October 16, 2004, a half-day seminar that addresses these issues will be held from 8 a.m.-noon. “How to Raise Capital for Women-owned Businesses,” will be held on the Fairleigh Dickinson University campus in Madison, NJ.
The workshop is open to the public; entrepreneurs and established owners of companies seeking funds are encouraged to attend. It is sponsored by the Female Entrepreneur’s Alliance (FEA), which is part of the University’s Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies.
Speakers will include representatives from Lindabury, McCormick & Estabrook, PA; Commerce Bank; and Weeks, Holderbaum, Huber & DeGraw, LLP. These experts will offer insights into a wide range of topics that women need to understand in order to reach their goals as business owners.
Gina Martinez, the founder of Viva la Chef, will be the keynote speaker and talk about her entrepreneurial journey, entitled “Dare to Dream.”
All attendees will have the opportunity to meet and to speak with the panel of lending, legal and business-planning experts. The seminar ends with a Coaching Workshop that features individual consultation with experts. Attendees are asked to bring specific questions to this session.
The seminar will be held in The Mansion, FDU’s College at Florham, Madison, NJ. To register, call 973 443 8842 or visit www.fdu.edu/rothman for more information. The fee for the seminar is $50 for advance registrants and $60 at the door.
