Susan Welsh Joins Fairleigh Dickinson University Board of TrusteesTEANECK, N.J. (Oct. 8, 2009) — Susan Welsh, doctor of chiropractic and owner of Welsh Clinic of Chiropractic in Tampa, Fla., has been elected to the FDU Board of Trustees for a three-year term.
“Susan will be a valuable addition to the Board of Trustees,” said FDU President J. Michael Adams. “Her enthusiasm and obvious devotion to her practice, her patients and to community service exemplify the qualities we seek on the board.”
Welsh’s specialty is sports-related injuries. She is the team chiropractor for the University of South Florida athletic department and the Tampa Bay Storm in the Arena Football League. She is a chiropractic consultant to the National Football League, and has been the team physician or team chiropractor for the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey team, Tampa Bay women’s pro softball team, Tampa Bay Mutiny soccer team and area high schools.
She is an assistant professor of health at USF and has appointments at Hillsborough Community College, Fla., and Palmer College of Chiropractic. Welsh is a member of the board of directors of Leadership Tampa Bay, member of the Hillsborough Basin Board, expert witness for the Florida Department of Health Board and member of the executive board of the S.S. American Victory ship and museum. She has been active with the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and was a task force member for the 2001 and 2009 Super Bowls in Tampa.
Welsh has an A.S. degree in biology from Black Hawk College, Ill., and a D.C. degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Iowa (1980). She is a certified chiropractic sports physician, a diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians and a fellow in the Palmer Academy of Chiropractic. She lives in Odessa, Fla.
