Dr. Stephen Wang Appointed in Healthcare Management
Madison, NJ (November 5, 2003) — Stephen F. Wang, MD, has been appointed Executive in Residence at the Center for Healthcare Management Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Silberman College of Business.
Dr. Wang previously served as vice president of academic affairs at Atlantic Health System, Florham Park, NJ, and clinical professor of pediatrics at UMDNJ. Prior to joining Atlantic, he was associate director of pediatric ambulatory services and a member of the medical faculty at Yale University.
In 2002, Dr. Wang received the John C. Leonard Award for National Leadership in Medical Education from the Association of Hospital Medical Education and he serves on the boards of a number of national and statewide healthcare organizations.
According to Dr. Donald Zimmerman, the executive director of the Center, “Stephen Wang has spent more than 30 years in nurturing academic and research programs, as well as developing university affiliations in the hospital environment. His aim is to help the Center expand its academic role both internally and externally.”
In joining the Center, Dr. Wang will work on developing a new healthcare research program, provide special lectures, and mentor students interested in leadership positions within the healthcare industry.
Zimmerman said, “The Center houses the region’s only MBA program taught entirely in the context of health care. The curriculum is crafted to provide the full range of knowledge and skills required for leadership positions in a highly competitive health care marketplace. We look forward to working with Dr. Wang — the breadth of experience he brings to our program is exciting for the Center and for our students. ”
The Executive MBA in Health Systems Management Program (HEMBA) at Fairleigh Dickinson University is a 21 month, 48-credit AACSB accredited Saturday program designed exclusively for health care managers, administrators, and clinicians. Class sessions are conducted at the Dolce Hamilton Park Conference Center, adjacent to Fairleigh Dickinson University's campus in Madison, New Jersey.
