Vietnam Ambassador to Speak at Metropolitan Campus September 30


Teaneck, NJ (August 31, 2009) —“Vietnam and Its Role in Asia and the World” is the topic that H.E. Ambassador Bui The Giang, deputy permanent representative of Vietnam to the United Nations, will present on September 30, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at FDU’s Metropolitan Campus, Teaneck, N.J.


Giang was appointed Deputy Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the U.N. in 2007. Before that, he was a founding member in the Vietnam–U.S. Dialogue Group on Agent Orange. From 1993 to 2007, Giang was involved in efforts to normalize and develop Vietnam–U.S. bilateral relations.


Giang also served in the People’s Army of Vietnam from 1972-1975, where he worked in an anti-aircraft artillery unit. This unit was directly engaged in fighting U.S. B-52 aircraft.


Fairleigh Dickinson’s Office of Global Learning, in collaboration with the Ambassadors’ Club at the United Nations, presents this United Nations Pathways Lecture.

The opportunity to hear Giang and join the audience question-and-answer session is free and open to the public.
