Post-9/11 G.I. Bill Workshop at Fairleigh Dickinson University to Explain Veterans BenefitsTEANECK, N.J. (December 9, 2009)— Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Veteran’s Association presents a free workshop on the new Post-9/11 G.I. Bill by A.J. Luna, director of veterans’ services at FDU. This workshop will take place on FDU’s Metropolitan Campus in Room 1128 in Dickinson Hall on Thursday, December 10, 2009. There will be two identical presentations from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m.
Understanding how one can best utilize the benefits in he Post-9/11 G.I. Bill can be challenging. This workshop is a valuable opportunity for veterans to better understand and take full advantage of the benefits they have earned.
Luna is a recognized expert on the Post-9/11 G.I Bill and he has spoken about it recently on CNN’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight” and FOX5’s “Good Day Street Talk.” Luna has given numerous workshops for veterans to help them understand how they can best utilize the benefits to which they are entitled. A veteran himself, Luna spent two years in Iraq and seven years in the army all-together. He worked as a signal soldier and in the military police. Since his discharge in 2006, Luna has been involved in veteran advocacy and was a member of the Student Veterans of America, a group which played a vital role in pushing for the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill. Luna now serves as the director of veterans’ services at FDU.
FDU is the most veteran-friendly university in New Jersey, offering full Yellow Ribbon benefits to eligible veteran students for bachelor’s degrees and graduate programs. FDU has very flexible options for veterans, with classes available on at least one site in every New Jersey county and online as well.
