Venture Capitalist to Speak
John H. Martinson, New Jersey Venture Capitalist, to Give Third Annual Distinguished Entrepreneurial Lecture at Fairleigh Dickinson University
Madison, NJ ó (April 9, 2001) John H. Martinson, founder and managing partner of the Edison Venture Fund and a founder and past chairman of the New Jersey Technology Council, will give the third annual Richard M. Clarke Distinguished Entrepreneurial Lecture at Fairleigh Dickinson University. The lecture, sponsored by the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies, will be held on Wednesday, May 9th, at 6:00 p.m. on Fairleigh Dickinsonís Florham-Madison Campus.
Martinson has been a successful and innovative venture capitalist for 25 years and has been recognized as the prime mover in building New Jersey's high-technology and venture capital sector. The Edison Venture Fund has invested nearly $300 million in over 100 companies, and the New Jersey Technology Council has become the focal point and catalyst for increasing technology-related venture activity in New Jersey.
Martinson is the director of the American Council for Capital Formation, past chairman of the National Venture Capital Association and of the Greater Philadelphia Venture Group.
The lecture will be held in conjunction with the awards ceremony for the 2001 East Coast Collegiate Entrepreneur Awards program. This competition recognizes undergraduate student entrepreneurs from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Delaware. The lecture follows the recognition of the region's finest young entrepreneurs.
