Salvatore Valente Honored with Pinnacle Award
Madison, NJ (June 8, 2004)—Salvatore Valente, chief executive officer of Bildisco Door Manufacturing, West Orange, NJ, has received the highest award Fairleigh Dickinson University can bestow on its alumni. In a ceremony held June 4, 2004, Valente was inducted into The Pinnacle. He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and his Master of Business Administration degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Pinnacle recipients are chosen on the basis of success or distinction in their chosen fields; significant contributions to society and humanity through public or humanitarian service; and outstanding service to the university or reflection of the unique character of Fairleigh Dickinson in their lives.
Valente is also the chief executive officer of Midatlantic Realty, NatWest Realty and VALSAL Enterprises, a financial investment firm. He is a member of the Door and Hardware Institute.
Born in Newark, NJ, and raised in Lyndhurst, NJ, he is deeply involved in community affairs. Valente is a past chairman of the Columbus Hospital Foundation and past co-chairman of the Drumthwacket Foundation. Currently, he serves as co-chairman of the Italian Studies Library at Seton Hall University.
Proud of his Italian heritage, he is a member of the National Italian American Federation and a past president of the Lyndhurst chapter of UNICO. Valente currently serves on the advisory board of Valley National Bank in Wayne, NJ, and is an active member of the Notre Dame Church in North Caldwell, NJ.
He and his wife, Nancy, have three children, Bruno, Amanda and Traci, all of whom are active in various family businesses. He is the proud grandfather of Gabriella, Salvatore, and Eliana.
In presenting the award, University President J. Michael Adams said, “As an entrepreneur, husband and father, you embody the ideals we all strive for. Your University proudly bestows upon you The Pinnacle.”
