Educators Can Learn from Entrepreneurship Leaders and Experts at 2011 USASBE Conference

MADISON, NJ (December 13, 2010) —The United States Association for Small Business & Entrepreneurship (USASBE) will host its annual conference on “Entrepreneurship: Changing the Present, Creating the Future,” from January 13-16, 2011 at the Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa on Hilton Head Island, S.C. The annual conference is one of the premier gatherings of entrepreneurship scholars and educators in the world.

 

USASBE’s annual conference is a great place for educators and entrepreneurship scholars to learn the best practices in entrepreneurship education and program development, with recognition given annually to the model academic programs, pedagogy, and outreach efforts in the United States.

 

Dr. Ethné Swartz, chair of the Marketing and Entrepreneurship Department of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Silberman College of Business, will lead USASBE 2011. Swartz is the program chair for the conference.

 

The keynote speakers for 2011 conference are Richard “Dick” Sweeney (Co-Founder of Keurig, Inc.), Marie Johns (Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration), William B. Gartner (Arthur M. Spiro Professor of Entrepreneurship at Clemson University), Jennifer Prosek (Founder and CEO of CJP Communications), and Lee Rainie (Director of the Pew Internet and American Life Project).

 

Sweeney, an FDU alumnus, was a co-founder of Keurig in 1993 and joined the company full time as one of its first employees in 1996. At Keurig, Sweeney is responsible for Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Field Service. Prior to Keurig, he was VP, Manufacturing for Canrad-Hanovia, a manufacturer of scientific and UV lighting.

 

The Silberman College of Business is accredited by AACSB International—the world’s preeminent accreditation authority for collegiate schools of business.
