FDU Students to Present "Sweet Charity" in March and April

Madison, NJ – March 4, 2010 – The award-winning musical of the sixties – “Sweet Charity” will be presented on Wednesday, March 31- Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 8 p.m., and Friday, April 9th and Saturday, April 10 at 8 p.m., on Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham, 285 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ. on the Dreyfuss Theater stage. There is also a Sunday, April 11th matinee at 2:30 p.m.

General admission is $10: $5 for students/seniors. Tickets may be reserved by calling 973-443-8644, press 4, or purchased at the door.

A special free matinee for high school classes will be held on Thursday, April 1 at 11 a.m. Arrangements for high school classes to attend may be made by calling Stephen Hollis, Director, 973-443-8467.

The 1966 Broadway production of Sweet Charity featured Bob Fosse’s choreography and the fabulous Gwen Verdon as Charity. It received 12 Tony Award nominations and was revived in 1986, winning four Tony awards. A movie in 1969 featured many actors who are stars today. Two well-known songs, “If You Could See Me Now” and “Big Spender” are still recognized and popular with musical comedy fans.
