This free public lecture takes place on Monday, March 25 at 6 p.m., in the Mansion’s Lenfell Hall, on FDU’s Florham-Madison Campus.During his thirty years with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Arias has been Chief spokesman of the Minister on three occasions and for three different governments. Throughout is diplomatic career he has been posted in Bolivia, Algeria and Portugal. He has actively participated in numerous international conferences and has been a member of the Spanish Delegation for many of the 36th through 54th sessions of the General Assembly and the Millennium Summit. In the private sector, his academic experience includes a professorship of International Relations at University Complutense (Madrid) and at University Carlos III (Madrid). He has authored publications concerning political issues and international relations, has worked as a radio commentator and has appeared on television regarding foreign policy issues. Arias is a member of the Ambassador’s Club, a "virtual" program of interactive out-reach, linking a voluntary association of Ambassadors at the United Nations with students at universities in the United States. The Club is limiting its out-reach program to half a dozen universities in the United States, and Fairleigh Dickinson University is part of this elite group.
