Sherri Glaab Recipient of Outstanding Young Alumni Award
Madison, NJ (October 23, 2008) – In ceremonies held on October 11, 2008 Fairleigh Dickinson University announced that Sherri Glaab is the 2008 recipient of Fairleigh Dickinson’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award. This award is presented to an alumnus who has graduated in the past 15 years and has achieved exceptional success in his or her profession. Recipients are recognized as emerging leaders in their fields or for services to the University and/or Alumni Association.
“You encompass the true definition of a driven, positive and motivated young alumnus. For all your hard work, dedication and proven success, Fairleigh Dickinson University takes great pride in honoring you with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award,” stated Nick Agostino, President of the Alumni Association Board of Governors, while presenting her with the award.
In 2007, Sherri was awarded the 2007 Governor’s Teacher Award. Earlier in the year, Sherri was featured in three North Jersey newspapers: The Suburban Trends, The Herald News and The Record as the “Teacher of the Week”.
After graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson with a Master of Arts in Teaching in 2002, Sherri went back to school to earn her Teach of the Handicapped Certification. She wanted to have the means to better reach all of the diverse learners in her classroom in a proactive manner, especially those with special needs.
Sherri obtained her Supervisor’s Certificate through Fairleigh Dickinson University in December 2007 and as of December 2008, Sherri will earn her second Master’s degree, in Educational Leadership through FDU.
