Fairleigh Dickinson’s University Players Present the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)
Hilarious Comedy Will Run on November 30 and December 1
Teaneck, NJ (November 7, 2006)—The University Players, the student theater group on FDU’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, NJ, will present the hilarious comedy, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)” on November 30 and December 1.
Written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer and Jess Winfield, the production is described as an “irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard's plays” and is London’s longest-running comedy, making audience members at the Criterion Theatre laugh for over 10 years. The small but energetic cast condenses all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays into short skits that include a rap song, a cooking show and a football game. Improvisation and audience participation play integral roles in the parody, so each 90-minute show is a unique comedic experience.
Performances are in FDU’s Experimental Theatre, University Hall, on River Road, Teaneck. Both shows will start at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the door at $8 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors, and $3 for children under 12.
