Student Art Exhibit and Images Festival To Be Held in April

Madison, NJ – April 23, 2010 – The public is invited to view drawings, paintings, ceramics, sculpture and photography of senior and junior art majors at the Senior Art Exhibition 2010 from Wednesday, April 14 through Wednesday, May 5, 2010 on Fairleigh Dickinson University's College at Florham. Viewing hours are   9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Gallery in the Rothman Building. Admission and parking are free. This annual exhibition is sponsored by FDU’s Department of Visual and Performing Arts.

Also, on Wednesday, April 28, the yearly Images Student Art Festival program kicks-off with a reception at 5 p.m. in the Rothman Building Gallery, followed by a concert featuring The FDU Chorus and Chamber Choir. They will perform numbers representing five centuries as well as a medley of Elton John’s songs at 6:30 p.m. in Dreyfuss Theater. A Computer Graphics senior thesis exhibit, and a reception follow at 7:15 p.m. on Dreyfuss Floor 2. All these events are free.

The play, Brian Clarke’s “Whose Life Is It Anyway” presented by performing arts majors begins at 8 p.m. in Dreyfuss Theater. General admission for the play is $10; students, $5. Tickets may be purchased at the door.

On Tuesday, May 4, thesis screenings of animations and films by seniors majoring in Film and Animation will be presented at Clearview Cinemas Theaters, 72 Headquarters Plaza, South Street, Morristown, at 6 p.m. Admission at the door is $5; doors open at 6 p.m. For information about the film and animation presentation, call 973-443-8646.
