Jason Scorza Appointed to ACE Advisory Council
Teaneck, NJ (October 29, 2008)—Jason Scorza, associate provost for global learning at Fairleigh Dickinson University, has been appointed to the ACE (American Council on Education) Internationalization Collaborative Advisory Council for a three-year term that begins in January.The collaborative is an invitational forum with 89 member institutions, including FDU. It provides a way for faculty and administrators to share ideas and help each other in furthering their international agendas. The advisory council serves as the voice of collaborative members to communicate with ACE.
ACE is the only higher education organization that represents presidents and chancellors of all types of U.S. accredited, degree-granting institutions, from community colleges to highly selective research universities.
Scorza was named an ACE Fellow for the 2007-08 academic year, one of just 39 fellows nationwide. The ACE Fellows program prepares promising senior faculty and administrators for leadership positions in university administration.
Scorza received his M.A. (1992) and Ph.D. (1997) in political philosophy from Princeton University. He is the author of “Strong Liberalism: Habits of Mind for Democratic Citizenship” (Tufts University Press, 2007) and numerous papers and articles on citizenship and civic education. He is a major contributor to FDU’s global education and distance learning initiatives.
