Dina Schipper Named Public Relations Director
Teaneck, NJ (September 18, 2009) — Fairleigh Dickinson University has named Dina S. Schipper Director of University Public Relations, effective immediately.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for University Advancement, Schipper will be responsible for the management of all public affairs and external relations programs, and will serve as the primary spokesperson for the University. She will also be the primary contact for the University’s various constituencies and will be the liaison with the print and electronic media. Among many critical initiatives, she will be responsible for coordinating the public information efforts of the University’s heralded polling institute, The PublicMind.
Prior to joining Fairleigh Dickinson, Schipper was the Director of Media Relations at Liberty Science Center, Jersey City, N.J. In a decade of service there, she significantly boosted awareness of the center and its programs and generated prominent publicity in local and national media including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post. Among other highlights, she spearheaded the publicity campaign for the 2007 re-opening of Liberty Science Center, which was recognized with the Public Relations Society of American Pyramid Award. In 2009, her team also won the New Jersey’s Governor’s Award for Travel and Tourism for sustained awareness of Liberty Science Center.
Schipper also held positions as public relations coordinator for Radio City Productions in New York City, account executive for LaForce & Stevens Public Relations in New York City and assistant account executive for Hill & Knowlton Public Relations in New York City.
A resident of Westfield, N.J., Schipper holds a B.A. degree from Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Va., and a certificate in public relations and event management from New York University.
