Rutgers DanceWorks to Perform at FDU
Free Dance Program February 19, 2002Teaneck, NJ (January 28, 2002) University DanceWorks, the touring dance company of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, will perform a free dance program at Fairleigh Dickinson University at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2002.
This ethnically diverse program will feature modern, hip-hop, acrobatic and interpretive dances. University DanceWorks has been in existence since 198l and is composed of advanced B.F.A. candidates in the Department of Dance.
The Companyís current artistic director, Randy James, who began his training at Rutgers University, has an international reputation as an exceptionally gifted master teacher and an emotionally evocative choreographer. He has been a guest artist at many of the most distinguished institutions throughout the United Sates and Europe. His performance background includes summer stock, dinner theater, regional ballet companies and nightclub reviews.
This event is sponsored by the Cultural Arts department of Fairleigh Dickinsonís New College and is open to the public free of charge.
The program will take place in Wilson Auditorium in Dickinson Hall, which is located on the Hackensack side of FDUís Teaneck-Hackensack Campus. It can be reached via Hackensack Avenue South, just off Route 4. For further information call (201) 692-7337.
