Raymond Wisniewski, President and COO of National Retail Systems to Speak at Fairleigh Dickinson
Madison, NJ (August 21, 2008) — Raymond Wisniewski, Fairleigh Dickinson Alumnus, and President and Chief Operating Officer for National Retail Systems, will be the featured speaker at the seventh annual Rothman Institute Recognition Reception on Friday, September 5, 2008. The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin with an elegant reception at 6:00 p.m. in Lenfell Hall in Hennessy Hall (The Mansion) on the College at Florham campus, Fairleigh Dickinson University, followed by the awards ceremony for the 2007-2008 FDU Business Plan Competition.
Wisniewski has been president of National Retail Systems (NRS) since 2000, overseeing day-to-day operations for one of the nation’s leading retail logistics providers with more than 3,000 employees at terminals and distribution centers across the country. He has spent his entire career in logistics, starting at NRS as a truck dispatcher in 1978.
In 1980, he launched the PrecisionWerks maintenance department at NRS. In 1984, he was promoted to Executive Vice President where he developed the “glass house visibility” information technology vision for NRS that the company still follows today. He was a member of the VICS Working Council in the early 1990s that created new EDI standards for the logistics industry as the backbone for today’s e-commerce in shipping. Wisniewski is active in the Retail Industry Leaders Association and numerous charitable organizations across New Jersey.The mission of the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies of Silberman College of Business is to foster and support entrepreneurship and innovation in the academic and business communities.
