Fairleigh Dickinson Presents: How to Get Published in a Magazine
Teaneck, NJ (March 10, 2008) - Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Writing Studio will host Keith Kloor, senior editor and writer at Audubon Magazine, who will discuss “How to Get Published in a Magazine.” The lecture will be held on Wednesday, April 9 and will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Kloor will discuss some of the “secrets” to becoming a successful magazine writer. Aspiring writers will have the opportunity to hear about insider tips for breaking into the magazine market and for impressing editors with original story ideas.
With Audubon Magazine since 1999, Kloor contributes feature stories and book reviews and covers a wide variety of environmental and science topics. Examples include conservation biology and energy policy to urban affairs and archaeology. Other magazines where his work has been featured include: Smithsonian Magazine, Science Magazine and Backpacker, among other publications. He is also an adjunct journalism professor at New York University, where he teaches in the graduate magazine writing program.
