Online courses now available through Petrocelli College
Petrocelli College of Continuing Studies is “experimenting.” Until now, all continuing education courses offered through Petrocelli have contained a traditional classroom component. Not so anymore, with a slew of new online courses available in the business and medical fields.
“Online programs are for the self-directed,” says Deborah Fredericks, Director of Operations for Continuing Education. “(There’s) much more freedom — taking the course when you want to and going your own pace. (You) work independently as opposed to in the classroom.”
Online course selections include: Business Plan Development, Certificate in Human Performance Technology, Administrative Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Coding and Billing, Outpatient Medical Coding and Billing, Medical Terminology, Medical Transcription, Medical Transcription Editor and Pharmacy Technician.
Human Performance Technology consists of three courses and some programs may recognize transfer credits for the work, says Fredericks. The other programs are all stand-alone; those who complete class successfully receive a certificate. Human Performance Technology has a set time frame, beginning in February, while the others have open enrollment.
Course descriptions will be available online in the coming weeks; students can register now by calling the Continuing Education office at 201-692-6500. Staff is available to answer questions between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
There will be an open house for the medical field programs in mid-March.
