Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (D) to Speak on Healthcare at FDUMADISON, N.J. (November 16, 2009)— A leading proponent of reform in the health care and health insurance industries, Congressman Frank Pallone, (D-NJ) will be speaking on healthcare on Monday, November 23, 2009 from 9:30-11 a.m. in the “Politics on the PublicMind” lecture series at the library of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham. A continental breakfast will be served at 9:30. A question-and-answer period will follow Pallone’s presentation.
Pallone represents New Jersey’s 6th Congressional District. As a senior majority member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, he also chairs the Subcommittee on Health. This subcommittee has jurisdiction over Medicaid, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and shares jurisdiction over Medicare with the Ways and Means Committee.
