Public Affairs Lecture Series Spring 2014

“Justice in the 21st Century” 

Madison, NJ (March 31, 2013) -- Fairleigh Dickinson University and the Public Affairs Lecture Series (PALS) present "Justice in the 21st Century," a spring lecture series featuring presentations on current topics in the news and the critical perspectives needed to understand them. 
Lectures will take place on Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m.-noon in the Dreyfuss Auditorium at the College at Florham at 285 Madison Ave., Madison, NJ 07940. Admission is $10 per lecture, or $45 for the series. 

April 1, Thomas Volscho, a professor of sociology at the City University of New York at the College of Staten Island, will present on “The Age of Economic Inequality in the United States.” 

April 8, Ashley Nellis, of The Sentencing Project, will discuss “Juvenile Justice and ‘Mass Incarceration.’”

April 15, Special Agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), William Husti, will present on “America’s War on Terror: Where are we Now?” Husti is also an adjunct professor at FDU and teaches on global terrorism. 

April 22, psychologist Philip Witt will discuss Megan’s Law. 

May 13, Sanjay Patil, from Open Society Foundations, will present on “Harm Reduction Policing: Challenges and Opportunities.”
