Globalization, A Word of Many Moral Meanings
Speaker the Reverend Richard John NeuhausTeaneck, NJ (September 19, 2002)—The first lecture in Fairleigh Dickinson University’s new Campus Ministry Lecture Series will be given on October 3 by the Reverend Richard John Neuhaus, one of the foremost authorities on the role of religion in the contemporary world. His topic will be "Globalization, A Word of Many Moral Meanings."
In a survey of national leadership, US News and World Report named Father Neuhaus one of 32 "most influential intellectuals in America." He is the President of the Institute on Religion and Public Life, a non-partisan, interreligious research and education institute in New York City. He serves as editor-in-chief of the Institute’s publication "First Things: A Monthly Journal of Religion and Public Life."
Born in Canada, Father Neuhaus received his formal education in Ontario and in the United States and is a graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Before becoming a Catholic priest, he was a Lutheran clergyman, serving seventeen years as senior pastor of a low-income black parish in Brooklyn, New York.
