Agatha Christie’s “Murder on the Nile”
University Players Production Opens April 15
Teaneck, NJ – March 29, 2005 – “Murder on the Nile,” the classic mystery by Agatha Christie, will be staged at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus in the Russell H. Ratsch Experimental Theatre, University Hall on Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16 at 8 p.m. with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 17.
In true Agatha Christie fashion, there has been a murder aboard the luxury steamer Karnak as it travels up the Nile River. Handsome Simon Mostyn and wealthy Kay Ridgeway are on their honeymoon with the usual mix of Christie characters —the ex-fiancé, an overbearing matron, a socialist, a clergyman and a German doctor. One of them turns up dead. It is up to the cast and the audience to put the pieces together and reveal the murderer.
The University Players production is co-directed by FDU faculty members James Rana and Ellen Spaldo. The cast includes Sean Alefield, Ryan Brady, Essence Cohen, James Daino, Jean Exume, Elizabeth Oputa, Rinat Prywes, Nyssa Schmidt, Jason Schofield, Tara Snitkin, Casey Sobel and Thomas Swanzey.
