H. E. Ambassador Mirjana Mladineo, Permanent Representative of Croatia to the United Nations, to Speak on February 28
Madison, NJ (February 1, 2007) – H. E. Ambassador Mirjana Mladineo, permanent representative of the Republic of Croatia to the United Nations, will discuss “Croatia in the Balkans and in Europe” on Wednesday, February 28, 2007, as part of Fairleigh Dickinson University’s United Nations Pathways Lecture Series.
The public is invited to join the University community for this presentation at 6:30 p.m. in Lenfell Hall, the Mansion, on Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham campus. There will be light refreshments prior to the speech and a question-and-answer session immediately following.
Ambassador Mladineo has more than 30 years of diplomatic and government service experience. She was appointed to her current post in 2005 and previously served as Head of the Croatian Mission to the European Union. From 2000-2003, Mladineo served as Croatia’s Deputy Minister for European Integration and from 1999-2000 she was her country’s Head of the Office for European Integration.
Between 1997 and 1999, Mladineo was Croatia’s National Coordinator for the Central European Initiative and prior to that she was the Minister Counsellor at Croatia’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations. Mladineo served as Counsellor and Personal Secretary to the Chief of Staff for the Republic of Croatia’s Office of the President from 1991 to 1992.
Throughout her career, she has been a member of Croatian delegations at numerous international multilateral events and bilateral negotiations.
The Ambassador holds an advanced degree in English, Russian languages and culture from the University of Zagreb.
The lecture by Ambassador Mladineo is part of the United Nations Pathways Lectures Series hosted by Fairleigh Dickinson’s Office of Global Learning. All lectures are followed by a question-and-answer session to provide the audience an opportunity to engage in a dialogue with the Ambassador.
