Martha Megna Honored with Pillar AwardMadison, NJ (September 11, 2008) – New Milford, N.J. resident Martha Megna was honored by Fairleigh Dickinson University as a “Pillar” of the campus community at the Academic Convocation held at FDU’s College at Florham, in Madison, N.J., on September 10, 2008.
Megna has been with the University for a quarter century, serving as a Coordinator in the Office of Enrollment Services on FDU’s Metropolitan Campus, located in Teaneck, N.J.
“With a watchful eye and maternal charm, you have helped countless students fulfill their academic aspirations,” said Provost Joseph Kiernan, reading from the citation. “Always accessible and rich with in-depth knowledge of the ways of FDU, you navigate students through each step of their academic journeys. While others perform similar responsibilities, you are among the select few who have forged enduring bonds with your students, and you remain in close touch with them long after their degrees are earned.”
Helping the team when necessary, Megna also finds the time to attend most college functions. Knowing “everyone,” according to her supervisor, she has been referred to as the campus “Mayor.”
When she’s not at the University, she is either traveling to the Caribbean or enjoying her family, especially her four sons and six grandchildren.
