Maria Webb — A Pillar of FDU
Madison, NJ (October 4, 2004) — Maria Webb was honored with a Pillar Award at the annual academic convocation held by Fairleigh Dickinson University on its College at Florham Campus on Wednesday, September 29, 2004.
The Pillar Award is given annually to recognize exceptional individuals within the University who, over time, have made extraordinary contributions to the character and quality of the institution, its community and culture.
Webb is assistant director of the campus library at the College at Florham. FDU President J. Michael Adams lauded Webb for serving as a “valuable source of information,”…“for looking for new ways to support students,”…“for developing special guides and researching the latest technological tools available,”…and for “unrelenting devotion to the advancement of education.”
Webb holds a Master of Library Science degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in French and holding membership in Phi Beta Kappa.
