Anthony L. Marano Awarded The Pinnacle
MADISON, NJ (JUNE 6, 2008) – In ceremonies on June 6 at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham in Madison, NJ, Anthony L. Marano, a resident of Wayne, NJ, was inducted into the Pinnacle, the highest award the University can bestow upon its alumni. Pinnacle recipients are chosen on the basis of success or distinction in their chosen fields; significant contributions to society and humanity through public or humanitarian service; and outstanding service to the University, or reflection of the unique character of Fairleigh Dickinson in their lives.
Marano is Chief Executive Officer of the Americas for Cushman & Wakefield, a leading international commercial real estate service firm headquartered in New York. As CEO since 2006, he is responsible for C&W’s North American and Latin American operations. He is also a member of C&W’s Executive Committee. Previously, Marano served as chief operating officer for the company’s U.S. operations.
Respected throughout the industry, he was named “Corporate Real Estate Executive of the Year” in 1999 by Commercial Property News.
During his career, Marano has held executive positions at Lucent Technologies, AT&T and Bell Laboratories. Before joining C&W, he was vice president of Business Services at Lucent, with the company's real estate functions among several units reporting to him.
An active member of the community, Marano currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation. He has been an active member of Project Sunshine and Institute for Children with Cancer and Blood Disorders. Marano is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Real Estate, Inc., publisher of Real Estate Forum and Globest.com.
Marano received his bachelor of arts degree from Rutgers University and a master’s in business administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In addition, he attended Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and the London School of Economics.
