Local Designer to be featured in Fashion Week Exhibit at FDU
MADISON, NJ (February 3, 2011)— Fashion Week 2011 is coming up and in tribute to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York City, the Fairleigh Dickinson University Library, College at Florham, will hold an exhibition from the J.R. Malpere Collection from February 10-17, 2011.
Twice a year, the world’s fashion designers, accessories designers, and milliners showcase their fall and spring collections. The fall collections are showcased in February and the spring collections in September. The event called Fashion Week takes place in major cities: New York, Milan, Paris, Tokyo. New York Fashion Week this year is February 10-17.
In tribute to Fashion Week 2011, the library will have on display in the Orangérie fashion photography books from the Douglas Lloyd Kahn Collection in the History of Photography and Film and examples of work from the J.R. Malpere Collection. Malpere is an up-and-coming artist and designer based in the New York-area.
The public may view the exhibit during library hours, which are 8:30 a.m. - 11 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday; 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday; and 2 – 10 p.m. Sunday. There is no admission charge for the reception or viewing.
