Senior Vice President Named
James P. Lyddy Joins FDU as Senior Vice President for University Advancement
Teaneck, NJ (March 19, 2001) — James P. Lyddy joined Fairleigh Dickinson University as Senior Vice President for University Advancement on March 1, 2001. Lyddy comes to FDU from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis., where he held the position of vice president for university advancement.
With more than 25 years of comprehensive experience in development, his work has included capital campaigns, annual giving, alumni relations, gift and estate planning, corporate and foundation relations and special events.
He will work closely with the Office of the President and the Board of Trustees, as well as academic and administrative groups within the University to further Fairleigh Dickinson University’s mission of preparing global citizens.
"I am enthusiastic about Jim Lyddy’s arrival," said FDU President J. Michael Adams. "His experience, motivation, skills and attitudes bring great assets to the University. I look forward to working closely with Dr. Lyddy as we redefine this exceptional institution."
Lyddy earned his bachelor’s degree at Georgetown University, his master’s degree at Fairfield University and his doctoral degree in higher education administration at Catholic University of America.
In addition to senior positions at Marquette University, Sacred Heart University and Seattle University, Lyddy served for five years as the executive director of the Bob Hope International Heart Research Institute in Seattle.
