Winston I. Lowe Rejoins Fairleigh Dickinson University Board of TrusteesTEANECK, N.J. (Oct. 8, 2009) — FDU alumnus Winston I. Lowe, managing partner of WinstonLowe LLC of Philadelphia, counsellors at law, has been elected to the FDU Board of Trustees for a three-year term.
“We are very excited to welcome Winston Lowe back to the Board of Trustees,” said FDU President J. Michael Adams. “Fairleigh Dickinson is fortunate indeed to be able to call upon the leadership and counsel of one of its most outstanding and loyal alumni.”
Lowe joined the FDU Board of Trustees in 1994, serving on the Finance, Budget and Planning Committee and the Charter Day Executive Dinner Committee; he left the board in 2004. In 2001, he won a Pinnacle Award, the highest award the University bestows upon its alumni, and has also received an FDU Distinguished Alumni Award.
WinstonLowe LLC provides legal and advisory services to private and public sector clients in the corporate finance area. Before forming the firm, Lowe was a shareholder for eight years with the Philadelphia office of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, PC, and a member of the firm's corporate finance and financial institutions groups. His specialties included mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, financings and equipment leasing.
Lowe also served for 15 years as senior vice president and general counsel of Chicago-based GE Capital Railcar Services Corp., a $6 billion global leasing and operating subsidiary of General Electric Co.
Lowe is a board member and member of the corporate governance committee of the Haverford Trust Co. and chairman of the board of trustees of the Jubilee School. He has a B.A. cum laude (1971) in history and government from Fairleigh Dickinson’s Rutherford campus and a J.D. degree (1975) from Columbia University Law School. He and his wife, Carolyn, also an FDU-Rutherford graduate, live in Merion Station, Pa.
