FDU Library Acquires Special Editions 19th and 20th Century British Women Writers
Madison, N.J. – October 13, 2009 – The public is invited to a reception at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham Library on Wednesday, October 21 at 2 p.m., honoring the acquisition of a newly donated collection of special editions of 19th- and 20th-century British women writers.
This collection, a gift of Allan Kushen & family, which will be known as the “Kushen Family Collection in memory of Betty Kushen, Ph.D.”
The Kushen Collection also includes Benjamin Franklin-related works and Betty Kushen’s unpublished doctoral dissertation (New York University) on Benjamin Franklin’s biographers’ attitudes toward him.
A representative selection of books from the collection will be displayed in the Library Orangérie. Allen Kushen and members of his family will be honorees.
Mrs. Kushen was a faculty member of the English Department on the College at Florham campus in the 1970s.
