KNIGHTSCAPES WEB SITE INAUGURAL
Public Invited to Attend
Teaneck, NJ (April 4, 2008) — The Gene Barnett Literary Society of Fairleigh Dickinson University will host the Website Inaugural for the literary magazine Knightscapes on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 7–9 p.m. The event will be held in the Student Union Building, Rutherford Room, on FDU’s Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, New Jersey.
This inaugural event on April 24 will showcase works from the current issue of Knightscapes as well as feature guest speaker Michael Kohn, one of the original Knightscapes editors and a poet. In addition, there will be readings and an auction of selected books, some of which will be autographed by their authors.
“The Internet has become the new printing press and the new literary salon all wrapped up into one. It's fitting that the Knightscapes team is taking this step,” said Jason A. Scorza, Associate Professor and Director of School of Arts and Media Studies and the School of English, Philosophy and Humanities.
Knightscapes is a literary magazine created as part of the Gene Barnett Literary Society at Fairleigh Dickinson University. The Society hosts a speaker series and publishes the Knightscapes magazine bi-annually in an effort to give Fairleigh Dickinson students and staff an opportunity to present their works and to encourage literary and visual arts. Knightscapes has been published since the beginning of the new millennium and includes fiction, artwork, non-fiction and poetry.
“We encourage anyone who has a love of literature or simply enjoys reading new and interesting works to join us,” said Dr. Joseph J. Kiernan, Interim University Provost. “As the leader in global education, Fairleigh Dickinson is committed to creating venues that can be accessed and appreciated globally. This event will introduce Knightscapes online as another avenue for the exchange of ideas, understanding and culture.”
