Author Justin Martin to Speak at FDU

Madison, N.J. (March 1, 2012) -- Friends of Florham, a group dedicated to the preservation of the former Twombly estate, now home of College at Florham at Fairleigh Dickinson University, invites you to hear Justin Martin, author of GENIUS IN PLACE: The Life of Frederick Law Olmsted, Designer of Central Park.  Mr. Martin will speak on Sunday, March 18 at 3:00 PM in the College at Florham’s Hennessy Hall, 285 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ. Copies of his book will be available for purchase and signing.

Martin ‘s prior work includes two highly-praised biographies, Greenspan: The Man Behind Money and Nader: Crusader, Spoiler, Icon.  This latest book adds much to the narrative of Frederick Law Olmsted. A compelling story, it tells how America’s first landscape architect helped to sculpt this country’s urban landscapes and private gardens.

The lecture is a fundraiser. Admission is $15 and includes a wine and cheese reception. All proceeds go toward the preservation work of Friends of Florham. For more information please contact Susan McConville, 201 692 7008, or
