Japanese Artwork and Books on Display at FDU Library
MADISON, NJ (March 10, 2011)— An exhibition, "From Japan to Florham: An Exhibition of Gift Books from the Nippon Foundation" will be held in the College at Florham Library of
Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, March 20, 2011–April 20, 2011.
The public is invited to attend the reception, which will be held Wednesday afternoon, March 30th, 3:30-5:00 p.m. Peter Woolley, a political science and Japanese history will give a talk at the reception.
The exhibition will include a group of Japanese posters from the 1980s. The exhibition is intended to bring attention to the gift of Japan-related books from the Nippon Foundation, a non-profit philanthropic organization established in 1962 in Tokyo. The grant award of books came in response to an application to the Nippon Foundation made by Maria Webb, the Library's Director of Public Services.
The public may view the exhibit during library hours, which are 8:30 a.m. –11 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m., Friday; 11 a.m.–5 p.m., Saturday; and 2–10 p.m. Sunday. There is no admission charge.
