He will trace the many ways politicians have been portrayed in film, from national saviors bearing the sacred responsibility of leadership to self-serving scoundrels who have sold their souls for power. Clips from significant political movies will illustrate a variety of political types.Dr. Keyishian is the author of Screening Politics: The Politician in American Movies, 1931-2001 (Scarecrow Press, 2003). The author of The Shapes of Revenge, a study of Shakespeare, he teaches courses in drama and film. The public is invited to the opening reception between 2:30-4:30 p.m. Dr. Keyishian will speak at 3 p.m. There is no admission charge.
