Teaneck, NJ (January 28, 2005) — A special workshop will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2005, for Hispanic parents who want to send their children to college. The workshop, which will be held in Spanish, will include the distribution of written materials in Spanish.
In order to attend this free workshop, attendees must call 201 692 2625 to reserve a seat. The workshop begins at 1 p.m. in Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Edward Williams Building, 150 Kotte Place, Hackensack, NJ.
Sponsored by the University’s Puerta al Futuro program, this three-hour workshop is in collaboration with The College Board, the Bergen County Hispanic American Advisory Board and the Hackensack Board of Education. Jonell Sanchez, The College Board, will be conducting the workshop in Spanish. Refreshments will be served.
FDU’s Puerta al Futuro program is hosting the workshop as a service to the Hispanic community. The Puerta al Futuro program, for Spanish-speaking adults, is the only A. A. degree program in New Jersey to offer courses completely in Spanish. It gradually transitions students from all-Spanish to all-English classes over the course of study. Participants develop their English writing and speaking skills and earn an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree with a business concentration.
