FDU to Host The Herrick Trio, April 10

Free Chamber Music Concert

Teaneck, NJ (March 26, 2001)—The ever-popular Herrick Trio makes a welcome return to Edward Williams Hall on the Teaneck-Hackensack campus of FDU on Tuesday, April 10.

This Teaneck –based group of talented musician’s plays regularly in the New Jersey area. Guest cellist, Sarah Carter, will join two regular members of the trio, Marilyn Gibson, violin, and Joan Stein, piano, on this occasion. Daryl Goldberg, who usually performs with the trio, is on a leave of absence.

Consistent with the group’s philosophy of championing new music and women composers, the program, entitled "Women of Accomplishment," opens with the Trio in G minor by Cecille Chaminade. This will be followed by Variations for String Trio, specially written for the Herrick Trio by Joshua Rosenblum. The program ends with Dvorak’s well-loved Trio in F minor.

Following in the tradition of their previous concerts, the Trio will preface each work with introductory remarks and will lead a lively and informative discussion about the compositions they have selected.

The free concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Edward Williams Hall, 150 Kotte Place, Hackensack, NJ. The auditorium is reached off Hackensack Avenue South and has ample free parking at the door. For more information, call (201) 692-7337.
