Internationally renowned economist Hazel Henderson to speak on October 16 at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison.

The Institute for Sustainable Enterprise (ISE), Fairleigh Dickinson University (www.fdu.edu/ise), is proud to feature the PBS celebrity and world renowned author and economist, Hazel Henderson, Ph.D., President, Ethical Markets Media on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 7:30–10 a.m. in Madison, NJ.
Henderson, author of Beyond Globalization and seven other books, is a widely respected and internationally famous expert on sustainable development. Her columns are syndicated to 400 newspapers in 27 languages. She created the global TV series Ethical Markets (EthicalMarkets.com) and the Calvert-Henderson Quality of Life Indicators (Calvert-Henderson.com).
The topic of the presentation is "Beyond GDP: Operationalizing Indicators of Sustainability and Quality of Life". Hazel will provide an up-to-date review of all the broader indicators of health, environment, poverty gaps and education, which are now being recognized as a necessary part of measuring a country’s progress.
The session also features two discussants: Frank Werner, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Finance, Fordham University and Fern Jones, Founder and Managing Director, FJ Corporation and is followed by Interactive Facilitated Table Discussions from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
