Presidential Citation Awarded
Fairleigh Dickinson University Honors Ronald Heim
Teaneck, NJ (October 8, 2001) — At Fairleigh Dickinson University’s annual Academic Convocation, held October 3, the university community honored distinguished faculty and staff.
A Presidential Citation was presented to Associate Professor of Marketing Ronald Heim, of Warren, NJ. Presidential Citations are awarded to those who have successfully initiated an innovative program.
Heim was honored for his commitment to the successful acquisition of accreditation by AACSB International —The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The accreditation for the University’s Samuel J. Silberman College of Business Administration was given to both bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
In presenting the Citation to Dr. Heim, President J. Michael Adams characterized him as "…a teacher, an administrator and the ultimate professional." Heim was commended for spearheading the development of two AACSB self-studies, which laid the groundwork—not just for the successful bid to achieve accreditation—but for the College’s direction well into the 21st century.
Of the approximately 1,200 colleges and universities in the U.S. that offer the undergraduate business degree, only 376 are AACSB accredited programs.
Heim, the associate dean of the Silberman College of Business Administration and an associate professor of marketing, specializes in marketing research, advertising and interactive marketing.
