Martin Green Awarded a Fairleigh Dickinson Presidential Citation
MADISON, NJ (September 29, 2006) – At a University-wide convocation on September 27, Fairleigh Dickinson University’s president J. Michael Adams presented a Presidential Citation to Martin Green. Green, a Professor of English, also serves as Assistant Campus Provost for Planning and Assessment, and the Interim Chair of the English Communication and Philosophy Department at the University’s College at Florham.
Green was honored for his prominent role in the two-year review process that resulted in the university’s recent re-accreditation by Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
In presenting the citation, Adams said, “Martin Green edited our massive self-study — the second consecutive Middle States self- study this reliable servant of FDU has molded. The very embodiment of the title ‘wordsmith,’ Martin cleaned up copy, closed holes, aligned styles, identified missing elements and diligently delivered drafts in accordance with each deadline. But his scope went beyond the imposing chore of making all our information make sense. He was the ultimate team player, fully participating in each level of the process and drawing on his experience to guide all those who at times needed a helpful hand. “
