New Jersey Wine & Food Classic Offers a Grand Tasting on May 6
20 Wineries and More Than 80 Wines Featured
Madison, NJ (April 8, 2005) - On Friday, May 6, wine and food enthusiasts will have the opportunity to sample more than 80 wines from 20 wineries and 30 viticultural areas during the Grand Tasting at the third New Jersey Annual Wine & Food Classic.
Guests will be able to walk around one room and experience wines from around the world. Included in the Grand Tasting this year will be the signature dishes from six New Jersey restaurants — Bernards Inn, Dimaio's Cucina, Marco Polo, North Maple Inn, Red, the Park Steakhouse and The Palace at Somerset Park.
A program will outline each winery as well as the wines being offered. Wines will be featured from Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Napa Valley, New Jersey, New Zealand, Oregon, Santa Cruz Mountains, Sonoma County, South Africa, South America, and Spain will be featured.
In addition, there will be a Silent Auction of hospitality delights and access to a selection of collectible wines. Proceeds benefit the scholarship fund of The International School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
The elegant setting is the grand salon — now named Lenfell Hall — in the former Vanderbilt-Twombly estate Florham, with its adjacent gardens and terraces, which is now the College at Florham Campus of Fairleigh Dickinson University. The Grand Tasting and Silent Auction will be held 5-8:30 p.m. in Lenfell Hall, The Mansion at FDU's College at Florham, 285 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ.
Registration is $50 per person for this walk-around wine tasting and the opportunity to participate in the Silent Auction.
