Exhibit of Local Wildlife by Local Photographer at FDU
Photographs by wildlife photographer W. Scott Giglio will be on display at the Monninger Center at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham in Madison, NJ from Tuesday, March 27, 2012, to Monday, April 30, 20120.
Giglio’s exhibit, “Fauna of Florham: Wildlife on Campus” features photographs of various wild birds animals in their native habitats on the campus of FDU’s College at Florham, taken from 2008 to 2012. This exhibit is part of the College at Florham’s celebration of Green Fest.
Giglio, who came to FDU in 1999 and worked as the director of sports information for seven years, started taking photos for the athletics department, then later in his capacity as assistant director of public relations. His interest in wildlife photography grew out of the encounters he had with Red Tailed Hawks and other animals on campus, often when on his way to or returning from a photo assignment.
“I don’t think of the College at Florham as a rural campus, but it is an oasis for more wildlife than most of the campus community might think,” said Giglio. “I feel fortunate to have come across some of the animals I have in the course of my work at the university.”
Admission is free. The public may view the exhibit during library hours, which are 8:30 a.m. - 11 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday; 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday; and 2 – 10 p.m. Sunday.
