Stan Gale is 2009 Charter Day Honoree

Madison, NJ (May 15, 2009) — The 20th Annual Charter Day and PINNACLE Awards Ceremony of Fairleigh Dickinson University will take place on June 5, 2009 at FDU’s College at Florham, Madison, NJ.

The 2009 Charter Day honoree is Stan Gale, chairman and managing partner of Gale International, a premier, international real estate development and investment firm. Charter Day honors individuals who have distinguished themselves as outstanding leaders in their professions and their communities. Proceeds support Charter Day academic scholarships.

Gale International specializes in complex, large-scale developments, including tall buildings, corporate campuses, mixed-use downtown revitalizations and master-planned urban environments. In recent years, the company has become recognized as the foremost expert on sustainable city-scale international development.

The Gale family’s legacy of entrepreneurship dates back to the burgeoning residential market in 1922. In recent years, it has been dramatically expanded by Stan Gale as he has taken on a full portfolio of multidisciplinary commercial development and investment strategies. To date, Gale International has 20 projects in development throughout North America and Asia.

Domestically, the company’s focus is on prime properties in compelling locations. Gale International plays a signature role in Boston's downtown revitalization, including both the planned redevelopment of the historic Downtown Crossing hub and the development of the 6.5 million square foot Seaport Square, a new multi-use neighborhood encompassing 20 city blocks.

Abroad, Gale International serves as the lead developer for the first-ever U.S.-South Korean real estate joint venture, the 1,500-acre, $35 billion development known as Songdo International Business District (IBD) in Incheon, South Korea.

Stan Gale spearheads the company’s strategic direction, long-term planning, joint ventures and financial partnerships, including recent relationships with Cisco, United Technologies, and 3M, all of whom are working with Gale International on making Songdo IBD a cutting-edge, digitally connected and environmentally sustainable city for the benefit of citizens, businesses and governments.

Stan Gale serves on the board of the Park Avenue Foundation and is an executive committee member of the U.S.-Korea Business Council. He is a frequent speaker at international business, financial and industry conferences, including the Urban Land Institute, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and Asia Society.

Stan Gale is the proud parent of two FDU students: Stan Gale, Jr. (class of 2009) and Jackie Gale (class of 2011).
