The New Jersey Wine & Food Classic Offers Three Days and Three Ways to Savor Fine Wine and Gourmet Food

Madison, NJ (March 30, 2006) — Enjoy three days and three ways to experience gourmet food and taste fine wine at an affordable cost at the Fourth Annual New Jersey Wine and Food Classic. The Classic offers unique opportunities to enjoy wine from world-renowned vineyards, sample delicious food from highly regarded New Jersey restaurants, and catch up on the latest trends at interactive wine and food seminars. Enjoy a different event each day from Thursday, April 27 – Saturday, April 29.

On Thursday, April 27, Wine and Food Pairing Dinners will be held at five highly regarded New Jersey restaurants known for their commitment to great wine and food. Experience the nuances of wine and food pairing as well as learning more about the specific winery or viticultural area being showcased. Dinners will be held at Copeland Restaurant in Morristown, NJ, 973-451-2619, (paired with the Rodney Strong Winery); Dining Room, Hilton Short Hills, 973-379-0100 (paired with Quintessa); Tre Piani, Princeton, 609-451-1515, (paired with the J. Lohr Winery); Stage House Restaurant, Scotch Plains, 908-322-4224 (paired with Ferrari Carano Winery); The Manor, West Orange, 973-731-2360 (paired with Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars). Reservations should be made directly with the restaurant of choice.

On Friday, April 28, wine lovers will be able to taste more than 125 fine wines from 35 wineries around the world at The Grand Tasting, an event held from 6 -9:30 p.m. in beautiful Lenfell Hall, The Mansion at FDU’s College at Florham in Madison, NJ. As former attendees know, there is a delicious bonus— samples of mouth-watering signature dishes from six top New Jersey restaurants. And everyone is able to participate in a silent auction to win collectible wines and hospitality packages. Proceeds of the silent auction benefit the Scholarship Fund of the International School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

On Saturday, April 29, from 12-5 p.m., it’s time to learn about key trends in the world of fine wine from industry experts during six interactive wine and food seminars at Hamilton Park Hotel in Florham Park, NJ. Each seminar will focus on a unique theme in the world of fine wine, and will provide the opportunity to taste six or seven wonderful wines from around the world. A comprehensive set of notes, maps, and supporting materials will accompany each seminar.

Tickets are $55 per person for the Grand Tasting and seminars are $45 per person. A discounted rate of $80 dollars for two seminars is available. The “Classic” Package includes admission to the Grand Tasting and two seminars for $130.
