Hope Field and Lyndsay Kraw Receive 2008 Volunteer of the Year Award
Madison, NJ (October 23, 2008) – In ceremonies held on October 11, 2008 Fairleigh Dickinson University announced that Hope Field and Lyndsay Kraw are the co-recipients of the 2008 Fairleigh Dickinson University Volunteer of the year award. This award is given to an alumnus/alumna who has contributed significantly to one or more of the following areas: academic programs, admissions, career development, student life, chapters, funding raising or athletics.
“Regardless of the task at hand, they are consistently available and called upon for their knowledge and expertise,” stated Lori Lee Dickson, Immediate Past President of the Board and Chair of the Awards Committee. “For your dedication, unwavering commitment and enthusiasm over the years, Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Alumni Association takes great pride in honoring you both as the co-recipients of the 2008 Volunteer of the Year Award.”
Field and Kraw are the founding members of the Young Alumni Chapter and for the past four years have been instrumental in the development of the chapter by working alongside the alumni relations office. They have contributed tremendously to various successful events such as the Hoboken Social, Homecoming and Beach Party.
Chosen to serve as the Young Alumni Chapter’s First President, Hope graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with an M.A. in Organizational Behavior and a B.A. in Psychology and Business. She volunteers for various organizations. Her major accomplishments include winning Miss Congeniality as a state finalist in the Miss New Jersey USA Pageant, 3rd place in the USHCC National Entrepreneurship Competition for the BizFest program and being the host of the bilingual television show Mi Casa es su Casa.
Lyndsay Kraw currently serves as the Social Chairman of the Young Alumni Chapter. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison in 2004 with a degree in sociology and volunteers to causes such as Dress to Impress. Known to the University community as a team player, friends commend her for being someone they can count on and describe her as bright, motivated and outgoing.
