“Otherworld” Exhibit at Edward Williams Gallery
Drawings and Paintings by Lori Field
Teaneck, NJ (February 15, 2005) –Drawings and paintings by Montclair artist Lori Field are on display in an exhibit entitled “Otherworld,” at Edward Williams Gallery on FDU’s campus in Hackensack from February 28 through April 1, 2005.
Ms. Field uses colored pencil drawings on vintage slate chalkboards, silverpoint drawings on gessoed paper, mixed media and encaustic paintings in her work. “My collage and drawing based work begins as streams of consciousness. The beings depicted evoke mysterious worlds. It is another planet of my own creation; peopled with anthropomorphic ‘angels with attitude’, mutants, exhibitionists, seducers and other intimate strangers.”
The artist studied visual arts at S.U.N.Y. College, Purchase, and N.Y. She is an arts educator, teaching courses in mixed media drawing and collage at Montclair Art Museum’s Yard School of Art and encaustic painting workshops out of her home studio. Ms. Field exhibits her work regionally, nationally and internationally in many group and solo exhibitions.
